I've personally used Virtualbox for about a year. I've also tried qemu,
but found it a bit harder to work with and configure. I've heard a lot
of people worshiping VMWare, but I've never tried it. I use virtualbox
to run Autocad on XP, and although it's not like running it natively,
it's still useful. Since autocad is a very memory intense program, I
have to assign a good chunk of my RAM to VB, so I rarely use VB and
other Ubuntu apps at the same time, so I don't know how running other
stuff will affect the outcome. I hope things start getting better,
faster now that Virtualbox has been bought by Sun Microsystems. Overall,
I'm very happy with Virtualbox.
